2011 New Year's Eve and 2012 New Year's Day in Umbria

In Orvieto (TR) is back for the 19th time the Umbria Jazz Winter. The event, established in 1993, has an interesting billboard also this year, prepared by the Artistic Director Carlo Pagnotta. On the night in between New Year's Eve and New Year's Day 2 great dinners with musical performances and 4 different kinds of concerts in some of the most beautiful outbuildings of the historical center of Orvieto. And even in the afternoon and evening of January 1st, 2012 many exhibitions in the shadow of the Rupe.

Staying in the music "field", but definitely veering towards the Gospel, in Passignano sul Trasimeno (PG) special event at the Auditorium Urbani with the Umbria Gospel Festival 2011-2012 – Soul Christmas from 22:30 with "The Funk & Soul Night Explosion".Last event of the festival from 18:30 on January 1st in Castiglione del Lago (PG).

For a more traditional New Year's Eve, but in a breathtaking sight, the Isola Polvese, the biggest island of the Trasimeno Lake (PG), proposes L'Isola del Natale (pdf 2,15 MB). On the night of December 31st fireworks over the lake, while on January 1st, 2012 chorus, cribs, circus and street market of local products and crafts.

If you love art and culture, on 2012 New Year's Day the museums and parks of Umbria will make an exceptional opening, totally free.

In all more or less small squares of Umbria is a good opportunity to raise a glass to the sky in the company, to attend concerts in the square or watch fireworks to welcome the new year, for example in Gubbio, Perugia, Terni, Città di Castello, Todi, Marsciano...
